Cinco de Maio

This puzzles was originally posted on the NY Times games forum

It wouldn't be Cinco de Maio without Corona and Cuervo ads, and it wouldn't be Corona or Cuervo without the lime. (Wow, that's convoluted!) Each of the clues below refer to a word or phrase that contain the letters L, I, M and E, in order, but not necessarily consecutively. Word lengths are provided.

  1. It's typically dry and hot, for New Mexico (7)
  2. Where the rich might keep Coronas for a road trip (10)
  3. A canal where Corona ends up (10)
  4. Who'll show up if your Cinco de Maio party gets too loud? (9)
  5. Possible conservative British reaction at seeing tequila body shots? (6)
  6. 58% prefer salt; 30% prefer salt and lime; for example (7, 7)
  7. A Cinco de Maio party held on the 6th, perhaps (3-5)

Enjoy! It's good to be back on the boards.
